An Executive Excel
User with a BlackBerry® Smartphone |
| |
At a major international bank, Cedric has been
given a BlackBerry to use email and calendar functions.
While traveling, he needs to access an Excel spreadsheet
stored in his department's SharePoint Document Library.
He opens the SilverDust client on his BlackBerry,
logs into his company network, navigates to the
Document Library and checks the spreadsheet out
of SharePoint. Using one of the Excel viewing tools
on the BlackBerry, such as DataViz or eOffice, he
is able to view the complete spreadsheet and make
changes if necessary. Once the changes are made,
he uses SilverDust again to check the modified Excel
spreadsheet back into SharePoint. |

Never
Again Leave Home Without It |

Alan, a sales rep for a major technology company,
uses a BlackBerry® Smartphone while traveling
overseas. Before boarding the flight, he realizes
that he forgot to download a PowerPoint presentation
from his company's internal SharePoint Document
Library. It's too late to ask someone to email it.
Using SilverDust, he securely connects to his company's
internal SharePoint server and retrieves the presentation.
While on the plane, he makes some changes to it
using Mobile PowerPoint. After arriving, he syncs
the changes back to the SharePoint for backup. |
